About Human Rights

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) is an international document that states basic rights and fundamental freedoms to which all human beings are entitled.

It recognises that ‘the inherent dignity of all members of the human family is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world’. It declares that human rights are universal – to be enjoyed by all people.

Despite the importance of this document, many young people may feel disconnected or not see the great relevance of the UDHR in their lives.

"It was great to have everyone involved and participating. I learned a ton of information from the training to bring back to students."
